The Hotel Majestic is a blast from the past experience, well worth the visit to San Francisco. The quaint hotel is located in the center of the city and maintains the original feel of 19th century French and English antiques. It has been recognized for its efforts to maintain the original architecture, which is evident the moment you step through the arched glass paned doors.
They offer valet parking at $25 a night, which is comparable to staying in San Francisco. Be prepared to stay double parked for a moment if they are busy, as they only have one valet attendant on the weekdays. The front desk is a small desk set between the public business area and the Cafe Majestic, their in house restaurant. I was greeted by a smaller older women with a deep accent that really made me feel like I was at a bed and breakfast rather then a 58 room hotel.
After a quick check in I headed to my room in a decoratively painted very small elevator, which I was happy to see being that I had two rolling luggage bags (not stair friendly). Be prepared to maneuver through a very small hall way to reach your room. I was lucky enough to receive a street facing corner room that was met with an entry door kissing distance from another guest room, an intimate entrance.
The room was spacious with a queen size bed, a love seat, an antique vanity closet and a bathroom that kept with the 19th century feel, porcelain tub and all. Check out my quick video tour…

The Room was impressive and comfortable but that wasn’t the only feature of the hotel that peaked my interest. While I didn’t get a chance to eat at the Majestic Cafe, I did have to opportunity to grab a drink and check out the Butterfly Lounge, which happens to not just been a name. The Lounge is decorated with one of the largest and rarest butterfly collections in the world. Beautiful and Unique!
Overall the hotel was well worth the cost for the location and the ambiance. I would recommend staying here at least once.
